What is the initial mileage you'll run the first time in a new pair of shoes?

I just got my new pairs of shoes, 1 is thte Pearl Izumi Kissaki v2.0 with a heel to toe drop of 10mm, a neutral shoe

Second one is the Asics Gel Blur33 2.0 with a heel to toe drop of 10mm, a neutral shoe.

Reason I ask is my old shoes have a heel to toe drop of 13mm (all of them), 2 were support shoes and 1 was/is a neutral which I am still willing to wear. Tomorrow night is my 7 mile tempo run and I want to try one of them out.

For the past few months, I've been running in Brooks Adrenaline ASR 9s, and Adrenaline GTS 12s (both support, with like a 10-12 mm drop--don't remember exactly).  Last week I got a couple of Mizunos (Wave Creation 13 (11mm) and Wave Rider 15 (13mm), both more neutral).  I took the Wave Creations out for a 9 miler, and the Wave Riders out for a 6 miler the following day.  Didn't have any real issues with either--more issues with the fact that there was still a bunch of snow on the ground.

Good, I just want to make sure that I am not out in the middle of my 7 miler just to find out that one of these pairs aren't for me Smile I am hoping that they both work for me.

I think you will be fine to do 7 miles in either pair.  If one of them were 4 mm drop or less, I would say to start out with 3-4 milers, but 10 mm I think you will be good.
