Tantivy Tuesday Penguins (Read 25 times)

Jack- I am dying to run a 10k right now but there just rwally aren't good spring ones around. There is a 5k in the evening March 1 down in Eugene that I'm thinking of doing. That sounds more fun than a solo 4 mi time trial that my plan has.

My last 3 mile tempo was almost 10 sec/mile faster than my 10k PR, so clearly I need to tackle the distance again.

    Barking Mad To Run

      Enjoy the new bike, Damaris!

Good luck with the miles, Z!  Sorry work is kicking your butt!

      Have fun at quartet, HsM!

Happy rest day, Jack, and hope the foot is feeling better.

No, Cherie, not getting sick. I 'routinely' have nightmares about some of my past military experiences.  Good for you for getting 4 done in that 'cold' 40 degrees!  (Do I hear Phil, LRB, DaveP, etc., laughing in the background? )

      Enjoy the pool workout, obiebyke!

Good luck with the upcoming Dr appointments, Ginny, hope it's not anything serious.

Hope the weather behaves for you, Jimmy, and good luck with the URL.

Gee, Damaris, with no parks and crazy drivers, is it even safe to ride a bike in Miami?  At least when you're running, you can jump the heck out of the way of crazy folks.

Cherie - When is your race?  40 sounds really nice right now, but I can see how it would feel cold when you're not used to it.  Last night when we walked Ben I was surprised how comfortable I was at 27 degrees, and what crossed my mind was "It's been a hard winter if this feels good."

AFM:  Treadmill later.  It's not that cold outside, but the fresh snow/ice means no place to run that's safe.  The streets are clear, mostly, but the sides are lined with banks of lumpy snow.  Tonight the forecast is for 2-4 inches of snow followed by .25 - .5 inches of ice.  Yech!  And we have two doctor appts. tomorrow.

Its Feb. 16, Ginny.  I wish you could do it with me.   Maybe next year ;-).  Brrrrr@ 27*.  What a difference those temperatures feel relative to the different climates.  Be very careful out on that ice tomorrow.

Docket-- oh nice!   I'm like, Scotty, though, I'd be scared riding it on those streets in Miami.  Hope you have bike trails and stuff y'all can ride on.

              From the Internet.

Hi pens! Busy weekend - did my first long run with the running club, had a lot of fun. 6.15 miles and felt great at the end - think I could have gone for 7 but don't want to push my luck with injuries at this point. I'm moving my long runs back to Saturday so I can go every week Big grin Then a concert/dinner/casino with my mom and a bunch of her friends Saturday night. Kacey Musgraves, Kip Moore, and Lady Antebellum - all were great and Kacey's album is on repeat on my Spotify for the forseeable future. If you're into country music and you haven't given her a listen yet I strongly suggest that you do! Her voice is incredible and the sound is much more old-style country than a lot of the pop-country stuff out today.

Ran 3 miles at the indoor track yesterday and 4.5 on the treadmill today, I'm a little tired/sore but otherwise feeling pretty good about it. Was supposed to be 3 today and 2ish tomorrow, but DD's preschool has already announced that they'll be closed and DH is away for a conference this week, so tomorrow will have to be an RD instead. Or, more accurately, a cross-training (snow-shoveling) day!
