My last half started at 7:00am, I had a beer in my hand before 9. For the OP's question, my last two HMs had an ID check at the expo and they gave you a bracelet so you didn't need your ID after the race, made it nice and easy.

I will definitely check into this.

Are we there, yet?
I want the beer, I will stick it in the diaper bag just in case
Just don't grab it by mistake when you give the kid a bottle.

Or football games.
Lol, that would be bad.
How can you guys drink beer after a race? I have a hard time eating a piece of bagel or half a banana when I finish. Don't talk to me about either pizza or beer for at least 2 or 3 hours after... And burgers? Pancakes? Barf!!!
BEER, the original sports drink.
Slow and steady never wins anything.
Yet another reason NOT to drink light beer - less carbs. And tastes like crap.

Andrea... Check into the Laufenfest 5K. All the beer you can drink post race. It's a part of the Haubstadt Bierstube, so naturally it's a drunkfest. Pulls in some pretty fast runners/times for an early June 5K.
Something witty
Hmmm, I will take a looksie Lee.

So, did you get your beer and did you need the ID?

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

Eh, I really didn't feel like having one lol. I wanted to get out of the heat, the sun and off my feet afterwards. The 1 mile walk back to the hotel sucked, but the bed felt good and the shower felt better. I had a beer when we got home, didn't drink all of it though, I was craving coffee. Our hotel room's coffee maker wasn't working so I went 2 1/2 days without coffee lol.

good to know.....how much cash are we talking about?
Usually just a bill that would be able to get me a drink/snack/transit ticket if I ran into problems in a race that warranted dropping out but weren't serious to have to call medical assistance.
In the words of my late-coach : Just hang in there, relax... and at the end of a race anyone you see.....just pass them
Ha ha! I told you so! That means you raced hard. All those other people who drink and eat minutes after racing just raced at wuss pace.

LMAO!! I feel like I did, ha! There were a lot people with 2-3 oz little cups of beer walking around, I did not have the stomach for it lol. Heck they were passing out those little cups of beer around mile 10-11 and I was thinking WTF! I can honestly say that was a first sight for me, but then again since Anheuser Busch Brewery was on the course, I shouldn't be surprised.
