Thoughts on doing steps with running (Read 46 times)

Currently looking for some alternate workouts during the week since I will have less time. I'm looking at buying a step platform to do steps at home. Do you think this is worthwhile?

      Absolutely.

Its good cardio, and leg strengthening.

I'll be doing some myself this winter.

That sounds like a great way to cross train

Lilac, I did that for years, when my son was a baby, then a pre-schooler, and I couldn't leave him alone at home. I would use a child size plastic chair to do my steps while watching TV. I must have broken 3 chairs like that.Big grin I'm lucky I didn't break my neck also... Anyway, doing steps is a great way to exercise, and it's cheap and uncomplicated.

Cool. I love steps but they are hard to come by here. Just yesterday I walked up from the PATH station steps, which is about 10 floors, nice and easy, but I still felt like I was having a heart attack when I was done. And I have to go up three flights to get up to my room. That is not acceptable Smile
