For the life of me I can't get the damned thing to connect to the computer. Every time I try to upload the data, it says there is no Garmin connected. I've tried here, DailyMile, Garmin Connect, etc. I've cleaned the contacts, plugged the USB port in first and then connected, connected the Garmin first and then plugged it in. It just won't connect. I've been working on this for the last 30 minutes. If I can't get this to work, or if it's a fight every time, I'm going to end up returning it. Ugh! Anyone have advice? I'm going to post in the "gear" forum, too. Thanks!
Do you even run?

Is it uploading to Training Center? Do you have the browser plugin installed?

I have everything installed. It wasn't uploading to anything. I think it's just a contact/connection issue. I finally got it working. It's just frustrating that it takes so much effort.

I have a 610 that uses a wifi stick to transfer to the computer. I had a devil of a time getting the computer to download the right software(ant agent) and then actually run the ant agent. I hate computers!!! I use a Wahoo Ant dongle to upload my activities to my iPad and then to GC, bypassing the dang PC completely. I try to stay away from Windows stuff, they frustrate me so much!
Oh, and GC was down intermittently yesterday from server overload(they posted info on FB, "like" them and you get frequent updates about stuff goings on, which helps) because they had so many new users the last few days. Apple was the same way the last few days too, my son had a hard time getting anything from the App Store, there were so many new users and people with gift cards.
The connector they use on the 110 (and 210) is kinda crappy. A lot of people have to keep wiggling the clip around until eventually a connection is made. Bad design and my only complaint, really. The worst part is when you connect the watch to charge overnight before a race and someone bumps it and you find out raceday that your watch is dead.

call garmin support, they are pretty helpful imo.
I know with the 610 there are 2 pieces of software, ant agent and the browser plug in. 1st go around I only installed ant agent and could not figure out the tranfer issue.

Truth be told, every Garmin I have owned (210, 405, 610) had at least one maddening design flaw. A real shame because they make some pretty slick devices that are usually a pleasure to use. When they work.

Garmin Connect had major issues the last 10 days. Starting around Dec 14 activities would not transfer to Connect from your computer. Fortunately they were all saved on your hard disk.
Yesterday it appears that Garmin corrected their uploading issues, this morning all my past activities synched to GC and now all appear.
Try googling your problem, their likely is a solution or guide on the internet showing you exactly how to make the connection.

It may not be of use with this issue, but I emailed garmin tech support with a problem I was having logging onto garmin connect. They jumped right on it.
I could call my own personal tech support, but I'd have to wait until Wednesday. I might drop Garmin a line before then. Thanks everyone for all your help!
The first time I tried to connect my 205 to my computer, I pulled my hair out. I finally discovered that the USB port on the front of my computer doesn't work. When I plugged it into a different port .. *poof* .. it worked fine.
Giggle. You must not know my husband then.

I know garmin connect has been having technical issues. Check their fb page for info.

Ha! Mine, either. Whenever the topic of fixing or building something comes up, his response is "Can't we pay someone to do that?"

Mine is actually skilled (somewhat). But it takes forever to be able to get him to do it. I prefer paying. We still have a hole in a wall somewhere. Don't ask how that happened.
