Higher mileage and wanting to chow everything in sight (Read 204 times)

Yes, until I start drinking again ha!

My weight fluctuates between 196 and 200 lbs at 11% body fat, I want to get that down to 189.  This goal is purely driven by my desire to run a marathon at that weight, so I suspect that once that is done, I will go back to my normal weight.  Or, I may not.

I would think that if you just upped your mileage by 10-15 mpw you'd hit that goal.

Do you feel you get a benefit aside from weight loss from the low cal diet? Serious question because low calorie diets have been shown to have health benefits for at least some people.

    RUN/BIKE/SWIM REPEAT

I added swimming to my routine on January 3rd. I have been swimming between 4-5 times/week

along with my usual 4 running days plus whatever random  miles I put on the bike trainer.

I have heard that swimming leaves you very hungry and it's true.  Now when I swim in the morning I need

2 breakfasts, one before and one after. I literally cannot get to lunch without that 2nd breakfast.

I just cannot believe how hungry I am all the time and I'm eating a lot. Bonus is that I am usually

about 122-123 and like to be around 120 for racing weight. I have been 120 since I started swimming

and have to eat a ton not to go under that. Not that I would mind but my pants are falling off me some

days already and i don't want to buy all new ones for the sake of a few pounds.

I have given myself myself 11 months to be where I want to be in a slow, precise and meticulous manner.  I cannot say that there are any noticeable health benefits, my diet was already pretty clean.

I am mostly rather annoyed not having my nightly adult beverage.  But making sacrifices pay dividends on race day, and I am all about that.
