    That's pretty awesome.

A photo from the meet (not my kid) that someone posted:

This is Michael Franklin diving across the finish line to win the 5k and complete his 5k/10k double win.

That's pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.

Our team used to do "fun" decathlon at the end of the season where all specialists participated. Pole vault was probably most difficult event, where a lot of people got zero. My pole vault, shot put, javelin, discus and the high jump were just embarrassing, but we had fun.

Haha I can relate to that! We did that too and I did absolutely horrible in the shot-put (even worse than most distance guys). My only consolation was that I did not have to try pole vaulting or javelin.

In the words of my late-coach : Just hang in there, relax... and at the end of a race anyone you see.....just pass them

Thanks.  I might post a RR about my 11 year old's run on Saturday.  It was so cute.

            How old are your kiddos?

I have an 18 year old son and a 14 year old daughter.  They keep life interesting.  Smile

            Great  picture of your boy!

I love the intense expression on his face.  I think you raised him right.

This is a GREAT shot.  You should definitely be so proud!  And thanks to George for breaking the decathlon down like that--I know a little about it, but not much, so that was helpful!

Thanks.  Here's a photo from his team's website, most likely from the 1500m finish.  Need to send this one to his orthodontist.

That shot is definitely suitable for framing!  I didn't get to see my kids play a lot of organized sports, but I was a regular at cheer leading competitions!  : )
