We're Not Gonna Take It - TUESDAILIES (Read 338 times)

Luke79

6 miles progression run, my first run with my new watch.  I didn't wear an mp3 player, which I had been doing a lot lately since ramping back up from injury.  As a result, I had that song Zombie by The Cranberries in my head on repeat the whole time.  That happens a lot, I get some random song stuck in my head and it just plays over and over.  Anyway, here's mah splits:

    1 - 9:55
    2 - 10:03
    3 - 9:35
    4 - 8:58
    5 - 9:01
    6 - 7:56

I am trying to take things a little seriously at this point in anticipation of running that 10 mile trail race in Jan and then branching out to longer distance trail stuff.

ImaRunnah - I saw you're doing the Baton Rouge Half Marathon.  I ran much of the course Sat. (8 mile run around the LSU Lakes and the golf course) and it's all marked already.  I didn't realize it was for an upcoming race, but it said BRB Marathon, so I know it's yours.  It will be a gorgeous race for you.  If you haven't run that area, look at RWOL FB and see my pictures.  You'll love it!

            Good morning, everyone!

I got in a nice 6.22 miles on the treadmill this morning, including a 30 min tempo (8:34) pace.

This site is so fast, I just might hang out more often. Smile

            Wickedly Average

OK, got my 5 miles in, with 2x1 mile intervals. First interval at 5K pace, Second one a little slower, maybe 15K pace. Just didn't have the juice to push it that hard again. Still, my fastest training 5 miler to date.

Tomorrow, if it dries out enough, I'll head for the hills!

We lived in BR for a few years, but I wasn't a runner then, except for an occasional 5k. I'm going to look up your pics!

was talked into trying a trail in a part of town I am not familiar with. It sucked, , 6 miles and change and not going back there (lotsa small loops that originated on concrete-barely a trail).

went and did 1K at the pool to feel better.

in other news, garmin is being so sweet to replace my 610 because of the crazy shit it does on bikerides. Of the 10 or so rides I have taken it on it has put me going over lakes on my bike, busting speeds that are crazy fast (60+mph), plus hr data that is 130% of my max. Works flawless on runs though!

Luke: You BEAST!!!  Look at that 6th mile!  Holy speed!  Well done!

Paula: Killing it on that tempo run today, girly!  Great run overall.  I'm glad you came on over!

Misty: How are you feeling today??  Better?  How about the race: are you nervous, excited, what??

Tom: Great job on the intervals today!  Wowzers!

Heidi-still congested but feeling better today!  How do I feel about the race? Hmmmm....I get knots in my stomach every time I accidentally think about it, and my feelings toward it swing widely from excited anticipation to agonizing dread.  If my training had gone well this month I'd be pumped because I'd know that I did everything I could possibly do to reach my goal; but being sick cost me some valuable weeks and now I just don't know if I can sustain the pace I'd planned on.

That's probably way more info than you asked for Wink

Oh my goodness, not at all too much info at all!  It sounds like a super honest answer and I felt the same way (and I didn't have illness garbage you have battled the last few weeks) prior to my race.  I know that the sickness is dinking your confidence a hair, but I really feel like you are going to race the every loving crap out of this race if you can get healthy b/f Saturday.  It sounds like you are on the mend.  This will just be a longer/steeper taper then you intended, but you are in amazing shape right now and you've worked SO freaking hard, that I REALLY think you are going to hit 1:50 or better!  You just need to get healthy this week.  I'm rooting for you, hon!  Smooch!

I found you!   OMG!  I have been losing motivation since I haven't been able to sign in regularly to that other place (lots of issues - not just the spam).    I haven't run in 2 days - tweaked my knee on Friday and when I tried running on Saturday, I couldn't even get to a mile before I was limping.   I tried to keep going, but instead of the pain going away as I worked whatever it was out, it kept getting worse and the limping kept getting more and more pronounced.   Cry

I'm supposed to do a 5K on Friday night and I've already determined that, if I can run, I probably shouldn't go all out because my goal HM is on 12/9.    I'm really, really hoping that resting this week (and stretching / rolling) is the right answer.    I want to run well in that HM!!

I'm so glad to find all of you here and to read about what you've been up to lately!   You all inspire me every day, and I've missed you!!   Sappy, but true.

Have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday!   And, as always, may your next run be Pinkerrific!!
