...I don't know, take the stupid carpet out of the picture and I have seen kitchens a lot worse. Not that *I* would paint my kitchen purple but full disclosure, I do own a purple motorcycle.

I'm sure it is fine. I've seen some very nice purple rooms. I just haven't painted any of mine purple. It is such a stong color it is hard to balance well in a room for me.
