They'll tell you that failure is not an option. That's ridiculous. Failure is always an option. It is the easiest and most readily available option. It's your choice though.
That is a great story. I volunteered in Wellesley, and hung around a runner who was a guide for a blind woman (last half). He met the guy in the article the night before at a gathering and mentioned being so impressed by him.
