Thanks Marjorie, I am pretty sure it is a hardware issue and not a software issue, though (squeezing the face of the watch mostly stops the problem, which makes me think it is an issue of some of the electronic parts not having a good connection)

Have you tried a firmware or software update off the site to see if maybe that might fix it?
Doug- I've got all the latest updates. No such luck.
Have you tried calling Garmin customer service?

If it's a hardware issue and not a software issue (I am 99% sure it is a hardware issue) it's not going to do any good in this timeframe. I will call them tomorrow but I really think there's nothing they can do without physically fixing the device.
