This is my first time in anything other than Asics or Nike in that Mizuno on the left so we'll see.  A little lumpy underfoot but they were closeouts & cheap so I'll give them a chance.

So far, wearing around the house...........

Mizuno Wave Rider 16 ----- (lumpy sole trying hard which I'm usually not a fan of but otherwise unoffensive so we'll see)

Nike Air Pegasus 30 ------ (what can I say......simply the most "Goldilocks" shoe on the planet)

That's usually true, but I actually find that Mizuno men's shoes fit me better.  *shrug*

I just got two pair in the mail yesterday myself, but they are last years model!

Hey, don't judge, who knows if the new model will even work for me.  I for one am taking no chances.

                    Brrrrrrr

                    Uffda

I should try the Riders again. I really like Mizunos. The Precision 13s I have now are nice, the 12s were better IMO. That's model they discontinued so I think I'll have to move over to the Sayonara.

Ha ha......That's the only way I buy!!!

The Mizunos are last year's (16, they're now on 17)

The Nike's are Pegasus 30's. (On their way out though 31's aren't out just yet either)

I've now run in Pegs for 5 model years running!

I've now run in Pegs for 5 model years running!

That is incredible!  I was in the Lunarglide 3 (went through three pair) and doing just fine thank you very much, then tried the upgrade (LG4) but they jacked it up so bad that I went to another brand and never went back to Nike.

There is some irony there as I wore Nike shoes, gear, jackets and accessories exclusively from about 1990 until I started running in 2011.  Now three years later I do not own one piece of Nike anything, and they are a running company!

                          Just B.S.

I have been running exclusively in Asics Gel Cumulus since 2005. Tried a pair of Saucony Hurricane

in the spring because they were on sale. Don't really like them and only wear for really short runs at

the track or on the treadmill.

Prior to 2005 I went thru 5 years of shoes that were never quite right for me. Once I found

the Cumulus that was it. Lots of fancier prettier shoes but if it ain't broken.......

I lost track but probably over 30 pairs by now. This was a few summers ago when I was having a

hard time keeping track of which were the newer pairs so I got creative with different laces and

                            ribbons Smile

I really think the Asics folks should be giving me some kind of sponsorship.

This is also from a few summers ago with some active and retired Cumulus.  Did I mention I love the Cumulus Smile

Just BS, I started in Cumulus.  I loved it.  Thought it was great & the only shoe I'd ever run in.  Plus I remembered Tiger running shoes from the 70's as a kid & loved the nostalgic thought of running in a "real" running shoe-company's shoes.   But then.......Asics decided to !#$%!@ with the shoe & royally pissed me off!!

I tried the Pegs on a whim from a suggestion on RW years ago.  I couldn't believe my feet!!  What an awesome shoe!!  Admittedly, I wasn't in love with the 27's.  They were/are a GREAT walking shoe but they were the stiffest form of Pegasus I had run in & I didn't like it.  Then Nike ditched the full-length air insole after that in lieu of just a rear air sole & their cushlon/rubber front which is good but mushy until you break them in.

The Mizuno is "ok" but definitely nothing to write home about.  I like the soft uppers of both shoes, but I think Nike still has the win.  (Again, least offensive).  The Wave technology appears to be more gimmicky than functional.  And as I mentioned before, lots of lumps & bumps going on in the sole whereas the Pegasus just keeps it very mild & neutral under foot.

I'd probably put the Mizuno in the speedwork category as it's less cushioned than the Pegs but not as hard/thin as the Asics Gel Lytes I use exclusively for speedwork.
