Is Jogging Bad for Older People?
This kind of goes along with the discussion about Glucosamine.

until age 70, when the loss of capacity accelerated for everyone.
Oh, great, something for me to look forward to in 10 years...

Cool. Over 45 is old.
I feel younger since getting back to running. You are only as old as you feel, right?
Damn, I am old. AARP me please?
Jog and old are words I refuse to understand.

Well, as I've gotten older, I seem to have trouble with words like 'errands' and 'honey-do' when my wife says them to me.
I'm fairly certain that 45 is not "older." I' pretty sure that starts somewhere around 60. But ask me in ten years, and I'll probably have a better idea. Meanwhile, the answer to the question is "I hope not."
Return To Racing
Doesn't mention this in Galloway's Running Until You're 100. Possibly, it is bad AFTER 100???
See my signature line. But yes, I do have my AARP membership card. My cheap ass ain't passing up those discounts.

Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life. (I started running at age 45).
Are we there, yet?
I prefer not traveling back in time to relive my life without running just to test that hypothesis.

You old people need to give it up and make friends with your lazy boy
Can I keep running and be friends with my La-Z-Boy? I want it all.
Rest and recovery are important parts of training.

I don't know if it's the same article exactly or not, but it probably is.
Anyway, outside of some cardio 20+ years ago, I really didn't start running until I was 52 years old. Except for the overuse knee injury (from which I am recovering), I've had nothing but positive benefits from running. I feel better, my resting pulse is down, weight is down, cholesterol is down, and blood pressure is down. I no longer get winded when I climb 2 flights of stairs, or do modest yard work.
