I've seen of few of you mention that you have races this weekend, like Jack Klompapotamus with his HM. Who else? I can't keep track of all the different threads.

YAYpril - B-Plus
St. Luke's HM on Sunday. It's my PR course from last year (2:13) and I'm shooting for around 2:05. Thinking about running 9:30 average for 13.1 miles is scaring the living hell out of me.
If only there was some kind of April Racing Thread that captured all this information....

Dave
It's still fun to talk about it. I'm SO BORED from tapering that I need to get this energy out somehow.
Seriously. I haven't truly tapered for anything since last year (I think the RW Hat Trick in October?) so I'm dying here.
Well I didn't post in the racing thread, but I'm racing the Inaugural Nike Women's Half in DC. We'll see how it goes, I don't know if I'm PR ready or even trying.
LOL
PRs: Boston Marathon, 3:27, April 15th 2013
Cornwall Half-Marathon, 1:35, April 27th 2013
18 marathons, 18 BQs since 2010
Well I didn't post in the racing thread...
And neither did Klompus or MtnBikerChk or Oski
Dave, why so angry?

We're teasing you, Phil!
Yes, I realize this.
Good. I'm always so scared of offending people, here.
I never post my races in the "race" thread but we do have the first race of the season this Saturday.
A 5 miler, our 8th consecutive year doing this particular race. It's in honor of our friends nephew
who died at age 12 from cancer. The proceeds to go an athletic fund set up in his name for
low income families to allow their children to play sports. He was only 6 months younger than my son
and it gets me in the gut every year to see his friends there running in his honor and all grown up. I
usually have tears at some point during the race or speeches.
Anyway, its a trail race, hilly as hell, starts and ends with 1/2 mile of sand so no PR expected just
a good time with friends/family for a good cause. It usually cold as heck too as it runs directly beside
the ocean with the 1/2 start and finish totally unprotected.
Last year it started snowing during the race. Supposed to be a tad warmer this year.
Hip Redux
If I post in that sticky thread, it's a guarantee that I will be injured and have to DNS.
So. 5k planned for Sunday!
I signed up for a Spartan Sprint back in September that's on Saturday. I'm running the Indy Mini next weekend, so this Spartan will be all about injury prevention. I've put way too much into training to screw it up with a sprained ankle or something stupid.
They'll tell you that failure is not an option. That's ridiculous. Failure is always an option. It is the easiest and most readily available option. It's your choice though.
Um, and neither did I for my HM 2 weeks ago.
Yeah, and I don't even have the excuse of tapering! Is taper madness contagious?

Yes it is!
Train smart ... race smarter.
