The neighbor of a friend had a domestic goose who used to attack visitors and peck at their feet. The neighbors had nicknamed it "Killer" for these attacks. He came after me one day and I did that. He never bothered me again.

I encounter this occasionally when I run along a river and just step harder. They don't fly away but they sure clear a path.

FYI, birds don't have the 'heat sensing' that we do. Nothing bothers them. Seriously, geese will eat a chrome bumper if they are hungry enough.
I tossed some to a seagull once (I was young) and it was most entertaining. Geese, I've never tried, and I guess I won't waste my wasabi peas on them now.
Wasabi peas are expensive!
I once hunted snow geese over a serrano pepper field in south texas.
