I noticed that the balls of my feet hurt a little bit after my run yesterday. It was a long one for me. 10 miles. The discomfort was gone by this morning, but did resurface after my 3 easy miles. I did spend the morning in high heels and didn't really notice the discomfort until I came home and changed my shoes. Could this just be my feet getting used to the longer mileage? Need better shoes?? I can't remember when I bought the ones I'm in now, but I remember being sweaty warm running up and down the sidewalk at the store. So maybe September-ish? WDYT?

I think it is highly likely it's a combo of wearing high heels and doing a longer run than you're used to. I have to wear heels at work and they make my feet SO tired (I take them off at my desk and put on little flats or something while I'm not in court or out doing stuff away from my desk). And when I'm extending my runs, my feet tend to be sore and fatigued the first few times out.

Having some discomfort once after a long run wouldn't send me looking for new shoes. But make a note of it in your log if you keep one so that you can remember details if it happens again.
In the words of my late-coach : Just hang in there, relax... and at the end of a race anyone you see.....just pass them
