TuesDAILIES: There's One In Every Work Place.... (Read 73 times)

DCDan78

5.05 done at 9:17 pace.  And this was supposed to be an easy run.  It felt easy, actually.  And I even started where I wanted at 10:03 for the first mile.  Then this happened:

    Mile 2 - 9:22

    Mile 3 - 9:38

    Mile 4 - 9:01

    Mile 5 - 8:21 (and that really didn't feel like an 8:21).

So maybe my Garmin's screwy.  Or maybe I just can't get my pace straight.  Still a good run.

Too much otherwise to catch up on, but I do want to express my condolences to Scotty for your wife's neice.  It's tragic regardless of the reason.

    Wickedly Average

The weather cleared out nicely as predicted - it was sunny this afternoon and, although a bit windy, was plenty warm at 52 degrees. So, I ventured down to the Chickamauga Battlefield and did 10 miles there. I basically ran the 15K loop with a couple of extra out/back legs to make it an even 10.

9:25 overall pace, a pretty nice run. The legs felt like they had just a bit more left at the end, so I probably could have pushed another mile. But I didn't this time.

I'm probably only going to run one more long one before the upcoming Gate River Run 15K on March 9th.

It never ceases to amaze me when I run on sub-artic, freezing cold ass days, that hours after my run when I go outside I cannot believe I ran in that cold ass, frigid crap!

          B-Plus

RMTB - I think you're 2 hours ahead of me, so that's perfect because I'm heading out right at around 4:00. Lets try to keep the pace easy and not compete with each other Wink

LOL. I do the same thing! I freeze in my house and wonder how I ran outside. Joking

              Running is my mental-Ctrl-Alt-Del.

              Just B.S.

                Hilary, sorry about the test.Sad

Basya, I will say good luck in advance as I don't go on-line during vacation so you will likely be on

your way before I get back. GOOD LUCK!!!

Scotty, you are so sweet, thanks for the invite. But 2,500 miles one way might be a tad too far for

                a long weekend trip.Smile

Bruce, add me to the "sick of winter" list. Enjoy your double run day!

Done with recovery run #2 today ... 4 miles on the TM at work. I was debating whether to run outside tonight but a quick look at the hour-by-hour weather nixed that idea ... going to be -15 to -20 wind chills tonight. Surprisingly the treadmill didn't look quite so bad.

                    Train smart ... race smarter.

I run 6 miles in it, then later, wearing my parka, can barely get the 50 feet from the front door of the building to my car in the parking lot without shivering.

Perfect: easy is my middle name this week.  I'm shooting for GA, so 8:20-9:00ish.  Don't push me to speed up.  Big grin  I do enough of that on my own.

It's snowing like crazy here in the foothills todays.  Not being as brave as many of the folks here about snowy roads, i opted for the treadmill today.  4.1 miles at recovery pace.  It really helped loosen the legs up.

                          Life is good.

I think I may finally give in to the TM tomorrow. Work schedule is tying me up at lunchtime & evening, so morning is my best chance. They are showing 16 degrees with 20 mph wind at 6AM.

Another wonderful thing about running outside in this weather is that the sorest part of me right now are my dry, cracked hands.

Scott - I don't think it is major, but my right quad just wants to stay tight. It also seems to just feel weak. It is causing my knee some pain too. It has going on for about two weeks. I just need some guidance from a ortho on how to get  better. I think running the half marathon was a little too much for my body.
