Is it my imagination or are peoples' mileages going up since SRL or whoever it was showed everyone that log report for the group? lol
Not a dude
correlation does not equal causation.
I haven't even thought about that report since he posted it, to be honest.

No idea what you are even referring to.
My mileage is increasing for a marathon in May. This time of year stinks for high mileage in the Midwest though. Seriously hating the spring marathon prep. 1 run out of 8 for the week is in the daylight. Ugh.
Are we there, yet?
Plans to increase mileage were in place long before the RW meltdown and migration to RA.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.

If you put your mileage into your user log, you can get a report of your mileage by going to " Reports" under the user group.
Okay. So it's like a public list or something?
I won't post, I don't wanna make anybody feel inadequate lol. I don't use the logs here or on RW. I did one week but it can't upload my run stats from GC without using my hubby's laptop.
Evil Windows. No thanks.
Former Bad Ass
It is a public list, for those that have made the log public.
I was taking a break during December (after the 2012 in 2012 finals). I am maintaining my mileage at a certain level to be able to complete my marathons during the first half, so the miles may look skewed to the front.

I don't have a log here, or anywhere else. I'm stubborn and I will die with probably 50 paper logs. They will be burried with me. Not interested either in seeing what others are doing. I do my own thing, as I have always done. Did I tell you that I am stubborn?
Yes, spring marathons are probably the reason for this increase in overall mileage that you are seeing.
PRs: Boston Marathon, 3:27, April 15th 2013
Cornwall Half-Marathon, 1:35, April 27th 2013
18 marathons, 18 BQs since 2010

Ditto for me.
Must be because you are Canadian. I heard they can be stubborn.
I'm near the end of my base phase. The mileage peaks around this point. Besides, I use my own running log.
I decided to start keeping a log here starting Jan. 1. Before that I just had a paper log. Coming back from injury means low miles - so nothing to brag about, but I like having a record and this is neater than marking my calendar.
I dunno that there has been increased mileage... and it is kind of hard to tell what with the annual rollover and folks just now starting to use the RA log more and more.
But that said, for those who never logged their mileage before, there's something sneaky effective about watching those totals and little charts. They may tend to motivate you to get your ass out the door more. It does for a lot of people. And not necessarily lurking the logs of others... just pondering your own.
If anything, should mileage start bumping up, I'd bet it is just the accountability that comes with viewing numbers and color bars more than trying to compete/compare with others. Especially with the streak widget and various whatnots.
Run to live; live to run
I don't care what others do. I just did a rebuild and am back to my normal weekly totals and a little more since I did a long cut back. To be honest I don't really look at other totals.

I have to agree with SRL, just watching the graphs on my own log is very motivating. I'm at a pretty comfortable level right now, very manageable with family and work, might go up a lil more, but I think just adding in speed work will help keep me from feeling stagnant without increasing my overall mileage.

My running blog
Goals | sub-18 5k | sub-3 marathon 2:56:46!!
Will run for scenery.
I started using the RA log after the 'SRL you were right' thread. Previously I had logged using a calendar app on my Android phone (handy, but no graphs/summary.
I have no real interest in other people's logs, but it definitely is a motivator to see a little graph.
Unfortunately, my miles have gone down due to knee issues. Hope to fix that.
