I need this (not want, need...DS now fits my 1-size-too-small mountain bike and we only have 2 mtn bikes between the 3 of us, so we can't all ride together at the moment. Kiddo really is comfortable and confident riding off-road, too):
Fugly, ain't she?! But Cdale found a work-around so shorter inseamed folks can ride 29ers, too. Their Trail SL 29er comes in a small, but the standover is 30.5"...my inseam is 30". I can't wait to test ride one in a month or two (Cannondale starts rolling out new bikes in July, but I'm not sure when this one would become available to my LBS).

Not really. I would have recognized that as a 'dale w/o a lick of paint. They've been makeing Delta V frames for decades.
Check this review of the Turner Burner 650b (below). Not that we need even more wheel size standards but 27.5 does seem to make sense for smaller frames.
Ooh, that Turner is a pricey machine! Isn't the real limit of 650b the relative lack of tire selection? It does make me wonder if we'll see more 650b offerings as 29ers increase in popularity. There are a LOT of shorties out there who want to give 29ers a try, but may not find a frame to fit without a top tube crammed up their privates. Though there is that one elite mountain biker...Willow Koerber. I believe she is 5'2" and she rides a 29er, so it can be done for people even smaller than I.

I was curious about toe overlap with big tires and a small frame. I don't think I'd want that on a mtn bike at all.

No toe overlap here. Looks like a longer top tube length. Is it the Trek/Fisher Genesis (longer head tube/shorter stem) geometry at play? Fisher got the 29ers going, after all. They had a big interest in making one that even Willow could ride.
The toe overlap thing is interesting. I get it on both my road bike and CX bike...on the CX bike it can be a PITA--I can't pedal through tight turns, so I have to prepare for them. During a typical race this isn't a huge deal--I might run into a half-dozen total hairy spots. On a mtn. bike it would probably be a deal-breaker for me. I will say that I did some googling last night and toe-overlap is surprisingly a really rare thing on 29ers, from what I could see in msg. board discussions. I rode a Salsa Mukluk one time and had no toe overlap issues, either--and it was a size small frame and I have relatively big feet for my size (women's 8W and I wear men's 40 shoes) and have my cleats back from the ball of my feet. So I'm hopeful that it wouldn't be an issue on that Cdale Tango, either.

The Mukluk seems to be the beach cruiser of mtn bikes so I'm guessing it has some super relaxed geometry and that has something to do with the ample toe room. Just guessing. I'd probably want something a little more responsive for regular xc riding so the geometry.
On another note...
I'm intrigued by this new stealth fighter BMC has just put out. I love the integrated brakes.

Sweet! I'd really like electronic shifting, someday, too. I have a bitch of a time shifting my front rings...or at least from small to large. I have to take my hand fully off of the bars to get enough force to push the lever over enough. No one really makes shifters for small/women's hands. SRAM is better than Shimano was for me, but not much. I'm giving thoughts to twist shifters for a mountain bike, too.

Its underneath the chain stays, very similar to what Felt has been doing since 2007 with their tri bikes except Felt has them on top of the chain stays..

Just like many mtn bikes from the late 80s/early 90s. Some pothead racer from UVM has made an early prototype for Trek, BCM, and Felt.
