Ladyveg - 1 1/2 minutes to 3 minutes was hard for me. Other people pass that without blinking. I think it depends on the person. I definitely remember celebrating when I was able to do 3 minutes. Big grin If you don't feel ready for it, you can try 2 minutes, ya know. Wink But why not give it a try? You may surprise yourself!

RindaRoo - Hi. It sounds like you're making progress. Great. Good for you for getting to the Y so many times this week. That's not always easy to do. Wingz, you're right. I am just putting off going to the doctor hoping the little changes I make will be enough to make any pain go away, but it's not working. I'll heed your advice and visit the doc. Here's even more background on this problem with my leg. The weakness is in only one leg, by the way, my left leg. The first week of January we had AWESOME warm weather so during a bicycle ride I had a VERY bad spill. Hurt my left leg when I fell onto a sidewalk because my shoe wouldn't come unclipped from the pedal. Roll eyes I got up, could barely walk and was SURE I'd broken something. Hobbled around for 20 minutes before deciding I had no choice but to ride back to where I started my ride so I could catch my ride home. So I did. Went to the Urgent Care the next day. They did not take xrays (JERKS). There was no one working that day qualified to take xrays. The doctor said I was fine, just badly bruised. A week later went to my doctor. He sent me for xrays and to check for blood clots. I was highly disappointed to find out I was fine. Shocked What? Nothing's broken? Anyway, it's taken weeks for the pain and bruising to clear up. On this leg my ankle and knee seem weak. I've been doing a few exercises to help strengthen my ankle but it isn't really helping. I"ll visit the doc and get my new shoes next week. I was hoping that until I got the shoes I could tough it out. Today I don't even feel like attempting to run. I'm going to ride my bicycle that is now on a trainer in my garage. At least I can't hurt myself by falling off the bike in the garage..................or CAN I? Big grin Nancy the klutz Smile

Nancy, I wish you'd said that earlier! Sounds like ongoing issues. If it was just a sprain or a bump, I'd think you'd be healed up after two months. Yes, it's time to get a follow-up. Perhaps see if you can find a different doctor? One who specializes in orthopedics, perhaps? You shouldn't be feeling weakness in your other joints... that's not normal. Don't be satisfied until you get an answer that makes sense to you and that you can work with. Oh... and don't go back to that particular Urgent Care if you can help it. Tongue I got some very bad advice from an urgent care once. It cost me three weeks of extra, unnecessary disability and pain because it delayed the surgery I needed to fix my knee after I tore my ACL. I learned the hard way: urgent care is not the same thing as orthopedic specialist. If you know it's a bone and joint issue, go straight to the folks that can help. Urgent care's just a patch-em-up kind of place... Let us know how it turns out! Oh... one more thing... from what I hear, EVERYBODY falls at least once from not being able to get their shoes out of the clips. That doesn't make you clumsy. That makes you normal. Smile

Wingz - Yeah, EVERYBODY does fall at least once. SOME of us fall a few times more, lol. That was my second spill in 3 days. I didn't mention it before because the shin pain was not related. But this weak feeling in my knee and ankle I'm thinking is related to my fall. Yeah, I decided I would never go to another Urgent Medical Care after that visit. In fact, I probably did the same thing before but it was so many years ago that I had forgotten I did not get any results from my visit. I did call the doctor once more after I found out that nothing was broken and there were no clots. I spoke with a nurse (not even the same one who saw my leg when I was at the doctor) and asked if it is normal for my leg to STILL be feeling this way and she said, 'yes, it will take some time.' She made me feel like I was just being a big baby so I stopped worrying. But NOW it's a different story. I will keep you updated. We're have a VERY warm day here in Ohio. It would be a nice day to get outside to run. Wink

Woohoo, finished week two today! I decided that if I could do all the jogging intervals two times out of three, that I would move on to the next week. So Monday, week three it is! It seems like a big jump, going from 90 seconds at a time to 3 minutes. Was that a hard transition for you who have passed that point?
Thank you, Ladyveg Big grin The hardest part of the C25K to me was going from week 4 to 5, when you start running for 10 minutes. My body was ready, BUT my brain struggled with the thought of not having the option of walking every few minutes. It wasn't until I realized that I was doing C25K to R-U-N and not to walk at all, that stopped being hard...that's why I would like to encourage you to try to complete your running intervals as far as you can. Also, I found I wasn't quite "warmed up" until I was about half way through, each interval held something different for me, and the last one was the most enjoyable... Smile Wingz, thank you for the race advice, priceless!!
