On the road again...
I'm starting the weekly thread. It's about all I've contributed to the group in the last few weeks, as seen in the chart below. This week should start my climb back to my usual middle of the pack spot. The 6+ miles this morning was a good start.
I write. I read. I run. One time, I ran a lot on my 50th birthday.
Paul
Thanks, Paul.
No miles for me today, this the start of my last taper week. Starting to get nervous, and notice several little pains and gotchas, so I guess "taper" is official.

Good job on the 6 miles this morning Paul!
Enjoy your rest day Lou and Good luck to you and Predawn runner next week!
10.3 miles for me this morning. Did 800's today and they felt pretty good. Not exactly sure what pace to run them at. I feel like i'm cramming for my half marathon coming up on May 1st. Not sure what to expect come race day.
Your toughness is made up of equal parts persistence and experience. You don't so much outrun your opponents as outlast and outsmart them, and the toughest opponent of all is the one inside your head." - Joe Henderson

Pam - I'm usually too lazy to look up my numbers and use them, but in case you're more diligent than I, McMillan (calculator, online) will give some suggested paces for intervals.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Hey, AG! Over here!
Did you get out to red rock canyon? We loved hiking out there last time we were in Las Vegas. Actually we never found our way into a casino, at least not to gamble -- it turns out one can't go into or leave a hotel there without going through a casino. We did however see a couple of shows. Loved Blue Man Group.
6 easy miles this morning, finishing just before torrential rains begain.
haha you're too funny.
Yes Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon. Check out my pics on FB.
I honestly spent more time looking for a barrel cactus (cartoons were apparently wrong as they're not everywhere in the desert), than I did in casinos. We basically went in far enough to get a drink, then came back out again. It even snowed, which my sister has never seen.
Lots of fun, this Aussie doesn't get to see family very often, so it's even better when they come over here.
Thanks Perry but like you I was lazy and just went with how I was feeling. Probably not fast enough but such is life.
Today an easy 5 miler
I haven't run yet, but I did manage to write a race report from the Bridge Run I did.
They built a bridge. I ran over it.
Me2
if there's such a thing as a taper dance, I'm doing it right now.
And...mapping out my training plan for the October marathon, assuming I don't vow once again to never ever ever run a marathon again. 3 days to go.
I forget - where are you running, AG?
Got up to run this morning, then as I was walking out the door decided to check my schedule. Oops, a rest day. Don't want to mess that up during taper week. Gave me time to do a little packing.
5 days to go for me.
I'm regretting my name change now, it sounds like Ugh. Call me Gen.
Olathe Marathon, now called the 'OZ marathon' with Dorothy logo and all. Sunny Kansas.
Guess I live near pacetorace.
ok, Gen -- thought maybe you wanted to keep that secret. (I hear "ay gee" though )
9.5 miles with 6 miles @ goal HMP. Pretty solid run. Felt good. Only workout left for the week is a long hilly run on Sunday. Next 3 days is going to be easy peasy. Happy Hump Day everyone!
