Update from me health and running (Read 131 times)

Cause I CAN

I should post this in the tread but didnt want it to get "lost" so sending it here. First with the health, my liver numbers have been high. I was told to get labs and see the doc in two weeks and if they're still high they want to do a liver biopsy to find out whats going on. I am betting money its because they took me off one of my meds and liver is missing it but they want to make sure they're arent anything underlying that gets missed. I also may be getting a new job soon that has un predictable hrs so that is going to mess with my running. I have been training, I asked my doc if it was ok to still train for the marathon and for now he sees no reason why not..

    Dave

Thanks for checking in, Peach. We'll pass along good vibes and prayers that your medical stuff gets better and that you get back to good health. It sounds like you're getting good care. Congrats (I hope) on the new job and I hope your training is going well.

I ran a mile and I liked it, liked it, liked it.

The liver is far more important than any marathon. As long as its good, keep on training. Keep us posted Peach. Best wishes. Cash

Simple, You learn to run at weird hours. Some people here get up at 5 am, get a run in, shower and go to work. I am famous for my late night/ midnight runs. I have gone on a run at midnight and come back at 1 30 am. I often run at 11 pm. I do have a headlamp that goes right above my running hat. Sometimes I run at noon, when everyone else says its too hot to run. Well, its when I have time, and if its hot on race day, I have already practiced running in that, so its not a big deal. The race starts at 7 am, and the sun isnt up till 8 am, no problem, I am used to running in the dark.

I just want to encourage you to keep at it. I new here, so I don't know you, but it's incredible impressive that you have stayed tough in spite of what's gone on with your liver. And regarding running at weird hours, Just make sure you're safe if you run at night. It's harder, I think, for women to just go out at midnight for a run. Maybe a co worker could join you? At any rate, keep staying positive.

Sorry to hear about the health concerns Peach. Glad you get to keep running though. Sometimes a change of running schedule is hard to adjust to, but in some ways refreshing too. What is your profession?

Hang in there, Peach. Glad you checked in and I hope you can get some answers soon on the liver issue. As for the running schedule... well after you get your new job settled you can figure out how to fit it in. Lunch time? Before work? Being a night owl like Cash? Well, something should work for you. I can't do the morning run stuff much, but have fit it in at times when there was no other option. In general, I run after work or during the day on the weekends. You'll figure it out. Be sure to post here and let us know how you're doing. We go long breaks without a Peach-update and I like to keep track of you! Smile
