You don't live in Wisconsin either. Plus, I have still some 12-18 bottles of the stuff in my fridge from my last trip up there. Wink

I was just down in Delaware last month and went to Dogfish Head's restaurant which is in Rohoboth Beach. The had a sampler deal where you got 5 different drafts for 5 bucks. I think each glass was 4 or 5 ounces, enough to get a good sample. I liked the Chicory Stout the best.

          Not at it at all.

Heh, but I'm a lot closer than you...I was within shouting distance of the Cheddar Curtain this weekend...got some Uff Da from the 'rents...and some TEN year cheddar! I'm hoping we can get DS to try it (the cheddar--no beer for him...it's MINE!)...I want a photo of him eating food that's older than he is! Big grin

            Good Bad & The Monkey

I stopped into my local beer distributor today and saw my favorite early Christmas present - the owner assembles winter and seasonal sampler cases, each with 24 different domestic microbrews. I love this guy. I was like a little kid, talking to myself and giggling as I put the beers away in the beer fridge this afternoon.

That's awesome, Jvol (wait, don't you live in PA? Might not be kosher, but I approve.) I think I'd prefer 2-4 of each (for sharing,) which, I'm essentially doing by building a holiday case to take to my parents' (yes, plural. divorce is wonderful) by buying a variety, then drinking and saving some. Included: Troegs Mad Elf (excellent, and potent) $52 a case. Still, basically $2 a beer, which is what swill costs out. Honey and cherry are ingredients. Also (so far) Penn Brewery's St. Nicholas bock. Trent: I think you'll find Dogfish Head makes some EXCELLENT beers. i haven't had the Midas yet. I did have their blue and red (?) for T-giving. Aged in wine casks, w/ orange and coriander. Was TAY-STEE. Currently in my mouth: Rogue Dead Guy. I love beer.

Rogue is dee-lish. I love their red ale.

I first tried their 120 minute IPA. Too much for my taste; mucho concept, little potability. These others though are good fun. November, when I bought these, was a lean month and I had to forego several others of theirs that were available. Next time...
120 ipa is a litte potent for my budget. their 60, i think it is, is good. and oh my, thanks for the new yorker link. i can't believe i didn't see that article. sometimes i get stuck on the last page, where i usually start, trying to be witty.

Just poured the Theobroma. It is a LOT lighter in color than I expected...more subtle in the nose and mouth too...nice stuff tho
