Gentle Ben's Tucson (Read 162 times)

Just got back from Tucson and made my usual trek to Gentle Ben's brewery. They've always been just OK (especially in the food department), but man they've just made a brilliant chocolate stout - and I don't even usually like chocolate stouts. Not sure if you can buy it elsewhere. Not to mention that Tucson is a damn nice place to visit this time of year. As you were. Arla

I'm going to Tucson in May, I might have to check that place out.

Nimbus is fun, too, in the industrial warehouse kind of way, and there's a monkey, too - in fact, there are many great drinking opportunities to be found in the area. Plenty of old bars with their original neon signs that are still in business or have found new life; of these, the Kingfisher is my favorite for sorta chi-chi: http://www.tucsonweekly.com/gbase/Chow/Content?oid=46801 or there's the Hotel Congress where Dillinger was nabbed (which has a great, divey bar and super-cheap rooms, just plan to be kept awake by the club): http://www.budgettravel.com/bt-dyn/content/article/2006/03/10/AR2006031001245.html Obviously, I like Tucson. Must be gettin' old. Arla

Cool thanks! Kingfisher looks great. We're meeting my cousin and aunt who live in the area. My aunt is a big beer drinker too so I'm sure she's probably heard of both of these places. We're going to be staying at Westward Look Resort. It's a mother daughter pampering weekend thing. I'm really looking forward to it. I've only been to Tucson a couple of times and it's always been just a quick weekend trip.
