Brew Pub - Name your Favourite. (Read 332 times)

What a great concept.... I love it. I was in Manhattan this week and it was suggested that I try Heartland Brewery (at Union Square). Mercy... the beer was great. I had their Oatmeal Stout. The food was good too... I had the Bison Burger with bleu cheese and fries. My only regret is that I wasn't with a beer drinker so there wasn't enough time to sample more beer. www.heartlandbrewery.com Jason

    Has been

We have a pile of nice brew pubs around us--Maine is chockfull of microbrew joints. http://www.grittys.com/ Their Vacationland Ale and their Black Fly Stout are both fantastic. http://www.seadogbrewing.com/ The BluePaw Wheat Ale made with wild Maine blueberries is my favorite along with the Old Gollywobbler Brown Ale. And right now I'm drinking a rather delicious Old Thumper ale from a local microbrewery owned by some family friends. http://www.shipyard.com/taste/

Well...I've never actually been there. And they don't host a kickass race, much less one that I PRd at AND got my very own HTFU sign at the 11 mile mark. Wink

Locally: Porterhouse BrewPub http://www.porterhousepub.com/brews.html The Dark Wheat is simply unbelievable. Looking forward to the Red Rye! Other than local: http://www.vermontbrewery.com/beer.htm The Burly Irish Red is one of the best brews I have ever had.

Fox River Brewing Co. is nice if you are ever in the Appleton, WI area. We went there for dinner the night before my cousin's wedding (this must have been 10 years ago, almost). We (my 'rents, siblings, DH, and I) walked out of there all abuzz. Then went over to Barnes & Noble and probably would have been kicked-out were it not for the fact that they were closing. The beer was good and strong, IIRC. Good food, too. Only in WI do they have breweries attached to major shopping malls! Wink k

In 3rd place: http://www.libertytaproom.com/ Greenville,SC Liberty is in 3rd because smoking is allowed and the ventilation is poor. Nice atmosphere, always rotating great bews, but the smoke Angry In 2nd place: Barley's in Greenville http://www.barleystaproom.com/ Non smoking downstairs, smoking upstair where the dart boards and pool tables are; old building with lots of character...the wait staff service is hit or miss and most everyone that works there has a "fuck-it" attitude. Best pizza in town with a fantastic selection and rotating seasonals. In 1st - still searching for that place.

I love the home of Red Lodge Ales in rural Montana. Sam, the owner of the company, is usually out back drinking with his customers when it's warm enough.

I have been there & it is wonderful! Oberon, need I say more? Great North Brewing Co in Traverse City, MI rocks too! One of the top 5 meals I've had in my life & great beer too. And there was one I ate at during a medical conference in Boston. I think the place was actually in Cambridge, but I don't remember the name. The beer must have been good, as I don't remember the name or the exact location... Confused
