Alright I expect this group to be a bit quiet this time of year, but lets at least try to do a monthly update till the marathon schedules start to kick in. I kind of want to get a couple of spring goals out and make myself responsible for them too.

I'd love to run 2+ marathons this year including a spring marathon, maybe Bayshore.

Good call on getting the goals down for the year. Mine are as follows:

5k - sub-24, er sub-22 Big grin
HM - sub-2hrs.
Run my first full marathon
Race my first triathalon

Training goals include averaging at least 35 mpw and consistently running 5-6 days per week. I'm also working on slowing down on my easy days. I think my perceived "easy" pace is a bit too fast if I want to increase my mileage.

BTW, nice to see a little action going on in here!

Also, I'm seriously considering the 5/3 race this year. I'm getting ready to start training for my HM, and 5/3 is a few weeks later than the HM, so I may be ready to roll. We shall see.

I am planning my first marathon this year and it should be bayshore. I am in week 3 of higdons intermediate 1 schedule. I have been looking for a possable fall marathon and this is one of my maybes. Detroit would be my other choice but I have heard good things about Grand Rapids and I like the size better.
My main goals are:

Flushing 1/2 March 29th as a MP run to see how my training for:
Bayshore Marathon May 24th

I am going to race a few other races inbetween but don't plan on any PR type tries until after my Marathon. Speed work and build up to a marathon probably would be tooo much for this old man. Smile

Other local races are:

Sweetheart 10K on Febuary 16th
Pot o gold 4 miler on March 17th

The others penciled in for the year are:

Volkslauf 20k on July 4th
Crim 10 miler on August 23rd
Brooksie Way Oct 5th
