Hmmm...to race, or not to race--that's the question (Read 65 times)

Ok, so my original first marathon goal race was GR, but then we realized that DH would be out of town that weekend, so I'm instead planning on Milwaukee 2 weeks earlier.

Then I thought "maybe I should just do the GR HM." But now I'm wondering if that's even wise. It fills up fast, so I definitely cannot register late. It is also super $$ for a HM...it costs MORE than the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, which is going to be a very expensive weekend with travel, food, lodging, Miller beer, etc....

So now I'm thinking...it's probably a completely dumbass idea to pay through the nose for a race that I may not even be up to running. I'd probably have just as much fun WATCHING friends run. And I won't have to find anyone to watch DS for several hours, either.

What would you do...?

I'm feelin' mighty cheap, though. And if I didn't race I could experience a race as a supporter, which would be really cool.

No, I hear ya. It doesn't make sense to dole out the money in this case. I'm just trying to guilt you into running it so I can have someone to keep me on task about training for it!

Do whachu gotta do!

I hear ya. We haven't exactly found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow either. You can at least join us for some post-race gluttony?
