I don't think this is an option with Southwest, which is where I have credit for tickets.
Hmmm...you'd probably have to come into Grand Rapids, then. In that case it might make sense to do the hotel thing, though it wouldn't be as nice as staying in a cottage by the lake.
In GR the Days Inn downtown is near the start. There is also a Holiday Inn not too far away. Those are probably the most reasonably priced options close to start...or going a little bit further away (like 10 minute drive) there are lots of chain hotels. Alpine Ave. would probably be an easy option.

I talked to Anthony (my 17 y/o) and he sounds like he's interested in running the half. If so, we would drive and we could split the driving since up a bit. If we drive we can stay anywhere. So I'll just wait a bit and see what others here are doing.

I'd vote for Beltline Bar...Tex-Mex, burgers, salads...though maybe that's too heavy? Trying to think of places that serve beer, but lighter fare, too...that's tough in West MI.
Looks like I'll be running GR, but not staying there the night before. I live w/in 1/2 hour. I'd be up for food the night before, but I can't do Mexican. So I'm pretty much a yes and no guy I guess. If the group chooses Beltline Bar I'll drop in for a beer after I consume something safe somewhere else. I have a cast iron stomach, but I also have a little sympathy for the few runners that might be behind me.

Yeah, I thought BBB might be a bit much. What we we did an iHop or something? Anyone else a fan of breakfast foods the night before a race? Or we could do Italian...I don't have any preference, as a spectator.
