Thanks...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
how was Hamilton?
Pretty impressive to go 3:28 on your 3rd consecutive weekend of marathoning.
Hamilton was a blast. Great event, really. Good organization, great route (sore quads from the downhill though!) Good post race food too.
We had about 10 peeps there from our group this year. I sold them on the fast course.
I wanted to give it a good shot without suffering. I figured 3:30 was about what I had. If I had to run faster to qualify for something I could have but it would have been a struggle and I didn't want that. It worked out well, I am happy with the results.
See you all at the Mississauga Chilly Willy Half Marathon, Nov 29 - right?
This isinteresting
Splits - avg pace for the 42.6k was 4:55 (4:59 for 42.2k)
No real attention to the pace, just ran by feel glancing occasionally. Turns out pretty even start to finish. I was planning to run the entire thing, I mean drink while runnning too. I finally made 1 short walk break at 39k. Final K was run a bit slower to add to the enjoyment as I knew I was well under 3:30.
I wouldn't be surprised if you saw Dave and myself running Hamilton next year...
I have heard lots of good things about this marathon..... it doesn't hurt that its fast too.
Dave's running coach did a 3:05. Not bad for a dude over 50..... not bad at all.
As for you Pace... I believe the official pace time is based off your Gun Time.
JR
I was just referring to the Garmin results. So if you put your time in for 42.2 you get a higher readout than the Garmin says because Garmin thinks I ran 42.6...that's all I meant.
Nice work, pal.
I am sold that this is a fast course and the one I am most likely thinking of for a fall marathon.
MTA: apparently I can't type after a week away from work...
You certainly are a tough guy!
I would not want to do 3 x 10ks so close together.
PBs since age 60: 5k- 24:36, 10k - 47:17. Half Marathon- 1:42:41.
10 miles (unofficial) 1:16:44.
You certainly are a tough guy! I would not want to do 3 x 10ks so close together.
daddyo is a monster
A good monster though : )
My wife pointed out this morning that it really is 3 marathons in 2 weeks. (15 days apart to be exact) I never looked at it that way but ya. I guess I am a monster.
Does anyone want to trade quads for the next couple of days?
you really want my quads..... they are way slower than yours.
I said only for 2 days, I'll take 'em
Relish the discomfort. It is evidence of dust and sweat and blood; of striving valiantly; of the worthy cause; the triumph of high achievement; of knowing that your place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory or defeat...
Nothing several beers can't cure.
