Hello New Members!! (Read 59 times)

Hello Portland!
Hi! If you're new to our group, just wanted to say welcome. Feel free to chime in with any questions/comments or to just say hello.

Our group is made up of happy-go-lucky folks who like to run, and we tend to be a support group for each other (even though most of us have never met.

Any goals or upcoming races out there....?

Chris
Ah, there's nothing more exciting than science. You get all the fun of sitting still, being quiet, writing down numbers, paying attention...Science has it all. -Skinner
Ditto the welcome that Chris offered!

Chris, if we're a happy-go-lucky bunch, why does your avatar show you pointing a gun at us? Confused

Don't be scared off by Chris' avatar though. That's not really him. Here is the real Chris:

To our members who haven't posted... SPEAK UP and tell us about yourself! Smile

Happy running to all!

Hi, and yo!

Things have been going well lately; I've actually been able to stick with my training plan for two weeks straight, which is probably a record-breaking streak for me. My goal race is in September, and my legs so far are happy with the gradual increases.

And hey, don't worry about my avatar, either. It's actually a picture of the award that runners get when they finish a race I'm working on.

Welcome!
You are a runner
Hello Portland!
Oh, a rail-road spike! I thought it was a missile, or a jet.

I had to change out of Domo Kun when i saw another guy on the forums was using it.
And I wouldn't point a gun at you guys, and i'm not balding (yet?). Also i'm sporting a pretty sick mustache right now. Katie's seen it. I'm trying to find my camera, then maybe i'll use a photo of it.

Our avatars are sporting guns, railroad spikes that can be used as lethal weapons, and cootie bugs. Yeah, real fun loving group we are! Wink

Can't wait to see the facial hair Chris. You using it to intimidate your competition?

Hello Portland!
I actually feel more "throwback". I've got these shorts that look kind of 70's-ish and when i hit the trail i feel a bit like an anachronism. It's fun!

The mustache is awesome!! Did I send you the jpegs from my going-away party of the century? If not, I'll send them to you so you can post it- although that one from the camera phone showed how much more impressive it had become. There are some cute ones of you and Yas y'all ought to have anyways.

Chris definitely is rocking the 'stache and the hair but I don't think he'll ever wear a singlet, even though once he did- there'd be no going back- its much cooler! (temp-wise).
Or maybe a collared shirt... Wink

Hello Portland!
Now the hair and 'stache are *both* getting longer....

MTA:
hey, they guy wearing the collared shirt was pretty fast. A decent runner, and someday i'll meet him and hear his story. "Till then, i'm never wearing a collar out there on the lakefront.
I'll wear the singlet, if it's hot and i'm racing. But no, i don't own one yet.
