taking leave (Read 49 times)

It has been great getting to know each of you here. I need, though, to spend more of my time on my job and my family, so I'm removing myself from all of the RA groups.

Enjoy all that running and life holds ahead.

Hey Carl....

I hope all is well. You've been a tremendous part of this group, and will be missed. I hope at some point you can find your way back.

I guess we won't get to see your construction garden photos! Sad

Keep running Carl!

Sorry to see you go Carl but I think its great that you're prioritizing your family (and work, which is necessary sometimes). Your enthusiasm for endurance sports is great - best of luck to you and keep up the running!

Hello Portland!
Sorry to see you go Carl. It's been a good time, and hopefully we'll hear from you sometime down line.

Hope all goes well with work, family, running, and life in general.

Ah, there's nothing more exciting than science. You get all the fun of sitting still, being quiet, writing down numbers, paying attention...Science has it all. -Skinner
It's been a week away, and I now believe I'll be able to limit my online surfing to just regular work breaks if I can keep myself from joining a bunch of other groups.

So, my plan is to keep it to just this one and the BQ training one that I started a while ago.

I'm sorry that I left you guys. Each of you makes Happy Trails the best group on the site.

Also, I can't believe you all started talking about pushups without me! Smile

If there's one thing I'm good at, it's pushups. I've been doing a few sets of them and some ab work lately, and I gradually seem to be making this routine a more-regular thing.

Yay!!! Carl's back!!! Hooray! Did you see the link to the hundred pushups site? You may enjoy the program if they're you're thing. I'm only on day 2 of week one so I can't really say how its going.

I've been unable to decide whether I should do pushups on my climbing days (after climbing, which is very upper body intensive- you should see my forearm and shoulder muscles Smile) or if I should do them on the in between days which are supposed to be rest days... can't decide. any opinions on this *fascinating* topic? ha ha

Good to have you back Carl! We'll try to not take up too much of your time! Smile

It's OK, Bob - please keep posting, a lot - I'm working on reading and typing faster!

Katie - I don't know anything about climbing, other that that it looks like a blast. My instincts tell me that you have the right idea in doing the pushups after the climbing, though. Maybe the pushups could be in the evening. A few nights during high school I did 10 quick pushups every TV commercial break, and then the next morning I'd wake up sore and realize that I'd done maybe over 100 the night before. I'll check out that site later this afternoon to see what the program looks like, although right now I'm thinking that my old TV workout idea sounds good. I'd almost forgotten about it, so thanks for the reminder.
