I'll be out of town next week and probably won't be on the internet, so I'll write now and say that I'm hoping everyone ends February healthy and safe, and that we all have a good week of running and living.

Have a great time Carl! Is this the winter escape trip you were talking about?

Yes, that's the one!
We'll probably be at the beach every day from Sunday to Saturday. I may be able to squeeze in some early morning running, as well, so I'm packing running shorts and sneaks.
I haven't been to FL in since the time I took a sailing class when I was 21, so this will be a fun trip!

You'd BETTER get some running in! We'll be watching you!
Sounds really great, Carl! Just make sure you come back!

Have fun Carl! Nothing like a little time in balmy FL to chase those winter blues away. Hope you have some nice oceanside runs.
Hope you had fun in Maryland, Chris!

I kept waking up at night, so I went running and then came home in time to catch a few hours of sleep.
It was a great vacation--lots of sand-castle building, ocean splashing, and gator seeking with the family.

Welcome home Carl! Did you bring home any gators?
Looks like you got some runs in while you were there, and some good cross training too!
I wonder what it was about last night. A lot of people I know, including myself, said they had fitful sleeps last night. What time was it that you went running? I may have to try that sometime.
Good to have you back.

Good to hear you got some running in out there Carl, i know it a came be tough (for the non-runners) when on vacation. Maybe you'll have some gator pictures up soon?
Glad to hear you enjoyed the get-away, and great to have you back!
Chris

Things are going well. Although the running miles just aren't happening as much as I'd wanted, everything else is good, so I'm grateful.
The transmission on my old minivan finally died, so we got a little pickup truck for me to drive to work and use for loading wood for next winter. Here's the dealer's shot:

It has a kayak/bike rack, so I'm on the lookout for a kayak/bike. I've never seen one of these. Does anyone know how fast I'll have to pedal it to get through rapids?

RIP, Carl's minivan. I cried when mine died too. For running, it was great, you could use it like a locker room. Before that I had a pickup truck and loved it. I ran the thing into the ground, then donated it to the local fire department. I watched as they ran over it with their heavy rescue truck, flattening it like a pancake. They they sliced it into pieces to simulate cutting someone out of an accident. Finally they set it on fire. Cool stuff.
Carl, good luck with yours, with all your home improvement projects, I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of it.
