For some reason, I am compelled to visit Iceland.
What do you say Chris, Katie and Carl? It looks like a stunning race!

At least until the kids have grown, this race is out of my socioeconomic league; however, it looks like a blast.

Before children, my wife and I lived in Alaska for two years; Iceland looks like it holds much of what's great about AK--what a great place to run a race!

Carl, you aren't kidding about the $$$ needed to get there! I was checking flights over the weekend.... ouch!

How lucky you were to live in AK! Were you a runner then?

Your 50k is coming up this weekend! Are you doing it, or are you gonna wait till the later one?

I wasn't running in Alaska; my wife and I did a lot of camping and hiking, but I only came back to running after returning to Pennsylvania.

We're pulling a Chris and staying with my mother-in-law in Florida during the last week in February, so the 50K is definitely happening here on Sunday. It will, I hope, be a fun day out with some talented local runners, some of whom I haven't seen since last year's run and some new ones I am meeting then. Can't wait!

Carl, good deal on the Florida trip!!! Staying with your MIL sounds like a GREAT reason to get out and run a 50k while down there! Wink

My wife's mom and I are friends, but I admit that my running addiction does have me thinking that I just might be able to fit in a midnight 50K.

It's a family vacation, though, so I'll only be able to do it if it won't get in the way of any snorkeling, gator seeking, or other family stuff. On our last family vacation, I didn't run at all and I found that the extra energy was great for spending with the boys.

Thanks for the well-wishes for this weekend! Although I'm sure the conditions will be wintry, we're hoping that it's not too much winter.

Good luck Carl! You're going to do great- look forward to hearing your race report- have fun in FL! Sorry so short- just checking in. You're right Bob- that Ultra looks amazingly beautiful! Since the economy's doing so great, I'll be able to go in no time. Dead
