Giest Half? (Read 290 times)

CoachPotter

Anyone running?  I just got great news and avoided ankle surgery witha couple of shots, so I am cleared to begin training again.  I am just running the 5k.

I'm running the half...though my goal time is getting longer with each day of half assed training.  It's a fun race.  The week before that is Run With the Foxes--really looking forward to that one.

What is Run with the Foxes and where?  I am up for banditing some races!

Run With the Foxes is a trail race with a few distances available.  Just south of Martinsville in Morgan Monroe state forest.  I haven't run it before--I run the trail fairly often, but this is the first time for the race.  It's a week before Geist.  http://www.hoosierhikerscouncil.org/Trail_Race_Info/run_with_foxes.shtml

for the run or the race?  If you're racing, I'll probably have to break out my spikes to keep up.  I'll have a chance if I hit your ankle a couple times.

I am in the 5K.  My wife signed us up to walk it with the kids, but she is due May 28th and if she doesn't feel up to it, then I am going to try and run a fast 5K.

On the fence right now but legs felt better for today's run so I would venture racing. Bring those spikes. At least I'll be able to hear you on the pavement.

Spaniel is racing as well. I think he'll go under 1:15. Which means you and I are both chasing someone that weekend around the reservoir.

CP - good luck with the pregnancy. Hope to see you there. I'll be wearing a green singlet with skull and crossbones.

I'll keep an eye out.  Not sure what I'll wear, but I'm pretty sure I'll have on a bright orange pair of Mizuno Ronins.  I really don't know at all where to pace this one...I'm thinking I'll start around 7:25 and see how I feel.

Sounds smart. I'm throwing caution to the wind. Not sure what that means but if you see me walking around mile 10 you will know it was a bit too much. Heh

There are slower courses out there, but not many PRs are set at Geist I'd guess.

Good luck tomorrow.  I'll try to spot people at the start.  I'll be in red shorts and terribly clashing bright orange Mizuno's.

I will be in black shorts and a black puma shirt, running in my adidas tempos...

I'll be wearing my American Cancer Society singlet (most likely an American flag bandana) and some really ugly Nike orange shoes or my orange Ascis. Game time decision. Good luck gang.
