Northview 5K Winter XC Series (Read 310 times)

L2Run

RoadRunner

I raced in my first XC event this weekend.  It was done in 6” of snow and some deep drifts.  This was a no frills race which cost $5.00 and a canned good to enter.  The canned goods went to the needy and the money went to maintain the course.   Several races are held on this course to include semi-state.

The race was a blast and the only problem is there weren’t enough participants.  If you have the time, check it out.  There is a race every Saturday at 9:00 AM in January.  It is held at Northview Church, 5535 East 131st Street, Carmel, IN.  Signups are morning of the race.  Please recruit others if you can.  Here is the link:

By the way, I was beat by two HS boys, two HS girls, and a 7th grader.

I'm planning on getting out to a couple of them.  I think this week I am going to try the Planet Adventure night run at Town Run park, but the following two I would like to do the CC races.  It's a neat course up there--watched a couple of my cousins run it for their hs team a year or two ago.

I stumbled onto Planet Adventure's web site.  I am thinking about doing the daylight run.

The Town Run race is rescheduled for the 23rd, so I'm planning on going to the Northview race.  I might even stop off to grab my old spikes...

Its a great course. I run it all the time since its only a mile from the house.

               Out of town this week.

I'll call the Church and find out. Will post here.

Glad to hear they're doing something.  I was going to do the Groundhog 7 on the 6th, but I have a scheduling conflict.  This will be a nice alternative.
