I'm thinking about doing some trail racing over the summer, and I've got an urge to do the Indy Marathon, but I'm pretty nervous about the prospect.

Have you done the 5ks before? What are they like...you know, besides 3.1 miles?

Great course. Since its about 1/2 mile from the house I run them to get some off road time. The route is a bit confusing the first time but makes sense after that. Five races for $50 and a t-shirt - a good deal + the random drawings are great.

Varies but the one's I ran had about 100. Some were very fast! but a nice group.

I'm trying to decide whether to do the full Indy marathon in October, or just the half. I'm pretty well set on the Monumental in November. I have friends who are running the full and half in October, but nobody for November, which is the crux.

No good for me Beef. I'm on tap for the Indy Marathon on Oct 18th. Running the 5 miler in the Corporate Challenge on 9/27. Too much kid's soccer, football and volleyball to allow for entering races. You running the Indy HM or full?

I think I'm going to stick to the HM. I'm at the point that I think I could run the full and be miserable or have fun with the half. I might still do the Monumental full, but I'm gonna have to really kick up my mileage for it to sound like a good time.

Nothing like reviving on old thread!  What's yer next race?  What's yer next goal race?  What's yer new year's running resolution?

Next Race:  It will be Northview or the Mini training series 5K.

Goal Race:  Mini - sub 1:27

New Year's Resolution:  To beat C-R in a 5K (not sure if or when he's running a 5K)!Big grin  I would say any race, but the farther the distance the less chance I have in beating him.

                            Feeling the growl again

Probably the 5K Mini Training Series run in February.  Another rust-busting 5K prior to that would be nice but I don't think it will happen.

I can't make that race.  My daughters' have a basketball game @ 8:30.  We do need to get together and run a race.  Afterward looser buys a beer... or two.  I know I will be buying.  Good luck Saturday!
