I just moved back to Indy after being gone for 12 years. I'm anxious for it to warm up so I can get off the treadmill--not a big fan of the cold. I'm running the RFTC coming up and the Geist Half--those will be my first races since '99. I'm a little nervous about that, but I'm looking forward to seeing how fast I can go again.

I've been taking a little break while I wait for the IT band flare up to die down. I have all the supposed remedies on the way in the mail now, so hopefully I'll be back soon. In the meantime I've been hitting the pool pretty hard.

Several good stretches for ITB. Google it on web. Cross legged straight down and cross legged and lean sideways against a wall. Did both when I had this about ten yearrrs agon and worked for me. Good luck on that one. Hopefully you determined the cause so as not to repeat.

I'm not sure I ever figured out the cause, but I think it was poor stretching on a cold day combined with a long run. I was five miles away from my car when it started to hurt, three when it got really bad, and I foolishly tried to run through the pain. That was about a month ago. I got the foam roller - people weren't kidding when they said that thing hurts to use.
