Does anyone have any advice, comments or recommendations regarding a preferred marathon training program?

It just occurred to me that the Fall season will be here before we know it and I want to jump into a proper 15-18week mileage program.  In the past I have used the Hal Higdon schedules as a weekly routine.  Although the HH calls for various pace runs, I ran all miles at or below MAF target.  In general, I would say things were successful and resulted in PR, however I never introduced any speed or LT work in the later weeks of training.

I'd like to know what other fellow MAFrs might use for a structured mileage programs.

In general my current weekly mileage floats between 28-40mpw.  All is at MAF-5 target.

I'm thinking of using the Intermediate II program again or upping weekly mileage per Adv I.

labhiker,

There is a RunningAHEAD group which talks about marathon training plans ( http://www.runningahead.com/groups/mtp ) Some of the members have experience with LHR training, and some of the discussions have evolved around Hal Higdon's plans.

Napa Valley Marathon (CA)     Yakima River Canyon Marathon (WA)
Wenatchee Marathon (WA)     Eugene Marathon (OR)
