Happy
You are smart to do only 2 miles on your recovery day. Looks like your running is going well!
LG,
Lovely weather - drenched? Did you get caught by surprise? You shouldn't be running in a thunderstorm - be careful!
Jimmy,
Congrats on closing on a house and finally getting settled in a new home. I'm sure it's going to be easy living from there. Take care!
flower,
I am keeping an eye on your training to get an idea of how to train after maff basebuilding. For the next 6 or 7 weeks I plan to do maff downhil drills. Contemplating a 10k next week after tampering to get a better idea of where I am fitness wise. Did not tamper for last race.
Run until the trail runs out.

Thanks, Flower! The deed is done! Nothing left to do but wait for the pros to show up with Directv, internet, and our stuff, which includes my treadmill!
Just a few hoops to become Georgians--license, registration, and ritual biscuits and gravy and grits.
My total "load" went down 50% today!
Thanks again.

LG, What's with the 64º? Can I come live with you? I took a rest day yesterday. The stress has been a bit high this week--crunch week. We close on our new house tomorrow! We'll be moved in by Monday. Bunch of things to take care of today. I think it'll just be a brief run at the track with my sweetie. Once we have taken care of driving licenses, registrations and all that poo, we should be back to regular living by August. Regular living=sleeping, working, running, paying the bills, and having fun on the weekends. A nice structure. I like structure. It frees my mind to be unstructured. Keep going everyone! --Jimmy

Come on over!! We can use a good man on our snow shovel relay team. As a New Englander, you've got the right tools for the task. I'm currently training with the 5 inch and under group. Strictly anerobic. Of course there's the 5 to 10 group, but that gets a little anaerobic. Heck, we've even got the 1 foot and over elites. Snow drifts, blizzards? No problem. Course, you'll have to ditch any Kennedy-like accents. While I'm quite tolerant, many folks, here, bristle at the slightest hint of liberalism. A southern drawl, however, might play well.
Seriously, it's nice to see that you are settling in, there in Atlanta. I remember reading a list of the top ten stressful life situations some time ago. Seems you've really had your share lately. I see a much brighter day on the horizon. You're gonna be awesome come fall, racing like never before!!

Hi Everyone
Today
Jog 60 seconds /Walk 60 seconds
35 minutes
2.2 miles
15:55 pace
HR 130s
Six weeks ago, same course, same pace, same time, but
I was only able to Jog 40 seconds at a stretch, not 60 seconds like today.
I don't know if that is LHR progress or not (same pace, same time, same course) but
I'm glad to be running nearly as much as walking.
Maybe in another 6 weeks I'll be actually jogging more than walking at HR 130s when September rolls around.
Low Heart♥Rate Training <135I'm back!
I took six months off running, but I'm at it again
Early Beginner Level, second time around
Goal Race: 28-week training Couch-to-HM (jog-walk, hope to finish under 3:00)
I'm in Week #16 (but I took a month off in there!) Count-Down 13 weeks!

Seeing some progress, the cut back seems to be kicking in, and working. It was a hot humid run today, and I ran everything. Almost caught up with my wife today. Actually had the lead at times. She runs at her MAF, and me at mine. She had been kicking my butt for weeks.
Last week I was able to complete my longest run to date. 5 laps of a 1.66 mile loop.
Total: 8.3 miles
Time: 1:34:33 (11:24 pace)
AveHR: 131
maxHR: 137
lap time (pace) AveHR
1 18:01 (10:52) 126 2 17:40 (10:39) 131 3 19:24 (11:42) 131 (1 minute walk included) 4 19:46 (11:55) 132 (1 minute walk included) 5 19:33 (11:47) 131
Last week was a cut back week, but mainly because I had a cold. But, I was able to get my mileage up to about 25 miles per week, the previous two weeks. So, I am happy that I am finally starting to be able to go longer now.
