     My thinking, exactly.

It must be the high pollen count. Your thoughts are sticking and flying over here to Chamblee.

Your body  is responding well to the racing, Ron. Often, after a abase period, you will see great improvement in tests for many months.

              Saturday, 4/17

               9.5 miles – bike path (relatively flat – 1% )  138ave (max 189), 11:44 mm ave.

Good HR control for the first 6 miles (114 then 128-132 range), then lost control and decided to open it up and turn the last 1/3 into a pace run.  Build toward MP at 145-152 and then kicked last few miles higher (160-180s).  Felt good speeding up for short period.  20 minute ice bath after high speed work hoping to stop inflammation.  30.6 miles/ week

              Sunday, 4/18

              12. 6 miles – bike path, 132 ave (MAF)  12:11 mm ave.

Legs felt a little sore from yesterday’s departure from pure MAF runs, but held up fine.  Experienced noticeable cardiac drift after 2 + hrs, and had to work to keep HR @ MAF.  Wanted to run faster, but had to slow down to keep HR at MAF target.  Walked a few hills during the last mile to keep at 132 bpm.

Pleased to still see a pace around 12:30 & 132 bmp (MAF) around mile 9-10.  After this, pace started to erode with the onset of cardiac drift.

GOAL: try to slow things down a little and increase weekly mileage.   Following 20-30 minute warm ups, keep runs between 128-132 range.   Planned endurance relay May 2, 3rd – intend to run race around MAF + 30-40 +.

Spent 4 days in San Diego. I didn't run, but walked a ton of miles at a decent clip. Covered 45 miles (running +walking) for the week.

                            Yesterday I ran on  Treadmill

Second time ever, last time was almost a year ago.

                            What an awkward feeling afterward

No idea what the pace was, couldn't figure out the display and buttons, didn't think it would matter anyway because all my other runs were outside on dirt

What a nuisance doing R/W on a treadmill.

Jog for about a minute, tap the speed button ten times to slow to Walk

Walk for 20 seconds, tap the speed button ten times to increase to Jog

Jog for about a minute, tap the speed button ten times to slow to Walk

Walk for 20 seconds, tap the speed button ten times to increase to Jog

repeat, repeat, repeat, and repeat some more, tap, tap, tap

My index finger is Sore today.

A new type of Running Injury...

                            I'm taking Four-Days-Off.

See you next week, Happy Running!

this is why "dreadmill" is a more appropriate name for this thing Big grin
