Morning all,
Its 3 weeks until my first marathon and all my prep seems to be going well.
My fitness feels good after about ten weeks of LHR only training I am confident that I will be able to make the distance (as i mentioned in a previous, post due to time consraints I will be doing LHR training in the lead up to the race).
My only problem now is that my right knee is starting to give me trouble towards the end of my long runs.
Are there any issues associated with taking ibuprofen before and possibly during the race to make sure my knee holds up? I have done a lot of long distance walking in the past and ibuprofen has worked wonders in getting me through when my knee is playing up.
Cheers and merry christmas to all

Aaack!
Read this post from Trent (a RA regular, marathon maniac and physician). NSAIDS
Personally, I have sworn off the things. I can tune better to my body.
That being said, if its a mechanical issue. See a doctor who is also a runner and will dispense advice in perspective and help you find a cure and not something that "masks" the issue. IMO.
Good luck AB and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
