Mine is in the upper 50s first thing, mid 60s while I'm at the computer, and in the low 70s by the time I get started on my runs.

I usually see my lowest readings in the evening lying down right before bed - low 50s, rarely upper 40s.

Don't take it very often, but my heart rate was 45 on Saturday before my run.  High 40s seems to be typical when I'm in decent shape.  When I was in better running shape late last year, I saw a high 30s one time.

34-36 while asleep

Usually 40's during the day while relaxed

39-55 at the pharmacy BP/HR machine

It was always low (I think around 60ish), even before I started exercing on a regular basis...I would gladly sacrifice a few beats for some speed!!

Do you sleep wearing your HRM and pay someone to sit and record the readings??

The lowest I have seen  is 55 when waking.  It is usually between 55 and 60 in the morning.  When moving about the house it is in the 80s.  By the time I am walking out the door to start my run it is in the 90s.

First mile or two the HR starts at about 100 and continues to rise and then settles to a consistant level for the pace.  I ususally run in the 130s.

I really love my HR monitor now.  I am lost without it.   I really love the feedback.

Because it takes a mile or so for HR to settle, I have changed the way I log it now.  I no longer include the first mile or so in the HR average.  I think including the HR from the first mile is misleading and really throws off the true average.  Especially if you are only running a few miles.

Run48,

Not including the first mile makes sense. I find it interesting that it takes your hr 1-2 miles to get up to speed (130). I guess that's a sign of good conditioning. Mine will hit my maf number of 120 within 1-2 minutes once I start running. But then, I still have a long way to go weight-wise and aerobically.

Actually, I wore my HRM to bed twice, knowing that I'd wake up during the night (at my "advanced" age ).

Then I got my HR and went back to sleep.  I guess I could have gotten my girlfriend (wife) to do it for me, but after 40 years she dosen't consider this type of activity fun anymore...

I think mines 50.
Ive worm my HRM to bed too a couple of times, even recording the data!
There were a couple of troughs where it went to 30 but I'm pretty sure these were some anomaly, sometimes I noticed the 305 lose the signal when I was lying on my side.
