Although you have to wonder if he is already running at that weight and he turned it into muscle instead of trying to lost weight if his running would be better overall.
for running any extra weight beyond necessary muscles for running is dead weight in general (with a few exceptions e.g. increased blood volume does perhaps weigh a tiny bit extra but very useful..)

The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

Congrats, Jimmy. That's awesome! We're the same weight now. I got down to 154 last summer, but am back up to 164, following the "run less, eat more" program.

Thanks Ron and Greg,
I'm back to slow weight loss, which is what I want. Not a big fan of the "stress diet."
Now that I'm the same weight as you, Greg, are you finally going to start returning my calls?
I heard the 164 club was a friendly place. It was lonely at 165+.
Keep going guys!

Hey Jimmy how's the regime going and what's your hip waist ratio?
My weight hasn't changed much since 8/19. Same weight 164/165-ish. Waist is about the same, though I haven't measured since then. I just went through a very abnormally stressful time, as I did in July, but made sure to eat enough this time around, and maintained weight. In July I lost ten pounds in 3 weeks. Now that I'm back home and to my routine, I plan to get back on the weight loss track and see if I can get another ten off. Though that won't start for another week or so. I'm giving myself a little time to decompress with little restrictions on things like food, TV, and wailing at the moon at midnight.
I don't measure my hips---not part of the male %fat formula---plus, they're so jiggy that they would be very hard to pin down for a measuring.
