The Maffetone Method contains most of what is in Training For Endurance, but is more comprehensive. I do recommend his book on feet care if you can get your hands on a copy. I think if you understand the meat of Training For Endurance (the physiology, formula, overtraining, MAF tests, etc.), you have the exercise part down. I don't have In Fitness And HEalth, but have Eating For Endurance ( also The High Performance Heart, Training For Endurance, Fix Your Feet, and The Maffetone Method). I feel I have the method covered. Keeping an eye out on anything new at his website. I hope someday he puts out a book called "Songwriting For Endurance"--he's quite prolific, and would love to know the secret of how he uncorked his creativity.

Thanks, Jimmy. Looking at the table of contents for the Maffetone Method, it looks like he cover anaerobic training a bit more than in Training for Endurance. Is that true? I don't remember much except "don't do too much" and recommending downhill strides in TforE. (Of course since it's only $11, I'm going to eventually buy it anyway! I just need to wait until I find another $14 of stuff I want, so I get free shipping from amazon.)
By the way, I find myself lurking here as I spent my year in anaerobia and wound up hurt. It was preventable in retrospect if I'd listened to my body more. At least I got some PRs out of it.
