For one of those rainy nights...I compiled links to all the old, most awesome LHRT/Maffetone threads created by Jesse (Formationflier, Lietnerj). Most migrated here after Active took over and changed it into something else. Enjoy.

feeling nostalgic tonight?
good stuff!

Actually, yes. The big difference between now and then is the absence of Jesse. When I see those old blue and yellow pages, I feel a bit blue about its demise. He gave a lot of himself there. His exploits legendary.
The energy of the board was unique. Civil, but challenging, and very helpful. There wasn't the rampant hijacking that you see on Letsrun, and even here on the main board.
I use to like the arguments that Richard99 started. I even enjoyed the occasional attacks on the Maffetone training.
There was something cool about having it all in one thread. The thread would get slow after awhile and Jesse would close it up and start a new one.
I raise my grape popsicle in a toast to Leitnerj. "Keep going, man!"
Hawt and sexy
Oh, I love you jimmyb.
Yeah, those were good times. Even when we fought, we were good to each other. Nothing like here or letsrun.
Like sticky this and stuff.
I'm touching your pants.
Great stuff,
it was through googling and finding some of those posts that I found the LHR forum here - I suspect I'm not the only one to arrive via this method
Nice to have them all in one place, thanks Jimmy.

Thanks, Will.
Instead of making a new sticky, I placed them in the Boilerplate under my post on the first page.
I made contact and he's okay. I didn't want to know anything more than that out of respect for his privacy. Obviously, he's decided to take some kind of break from some of the elements of his former running world.
running yogi
thank you jimmy for doing this. i thought we lost them.
i miss jesse a lot. i hope he is healthy and strong. i learnt so much from him on coolrunning.
i was shy to post and ask questions, so i would contact him at his personal email. he always replied and patiently answered all my questions.
he was so passionate about what he was doing.
it's not the same without him, but we still have something good going on here.

Coolrunning sure had something unique going or maybe I was just a different person. I still like the homespun look. (Practically, I thought it was also easier to read the narrow, long format.)
I feel nostalgic even though I wasnt part of cool runnings
So am I right in reading you have gone from over 4 hours to a 3:15 Marathon?

4:49 in my first (went out too fast, so probably ~4:20 - 4:30 shape really), but that was the typical "just finish" plan, peaking at 40 mpw. The next was 4:16, but we had a freak March day (like recently) and the high was 79 that day. Jesse was there actually. I ran 4:00 8 weeks later. It was 4:00:03 officially and 3:59:56 on my watch -- no chip. Ouch. After that I ran 3:56, 3:43, 3:24, 3:27 (1:38/1:49 -- out hard chasing 3:15 BQ), 3:21, and 3:15. 3:19 at Boston. Sadly, I can do this from memory!
