Thanks Norm and Jimmy,

I must say I don't think I've ever seen a more active and supportive group anywhere than the Low HR training one!

I've been caught up reading all the old posts, and between these and my other readings on stuff like Chi running and   Total Immersion swimming (I'm going to be doing triathlons) I've hardly gotten any work done in the last week!

I think eventually I will go and look at some racing flats, and maybe check out the Puma Hstreets, the Nikes and the 5 fingers - they're tempting it if only for the weird looks one is sure to get! Not sure if I have an outfit to match thoughSmile

I might also check the library for the Doc's book on feet (and if they have any of his others).

Perhaps though I'm trying to do too many new things at once - low HR training, throwing in bits of Chi running along with close to barefoot running!!

ps.  the mercury has just hit 100f here down under - it sure doesnt feel very festive for an ex northern hemispherer like me.

I eccho your sentiment on this group. Top flight.

I think you are correct on the changing too many things at once but in this case they all work in harmony. By that, the LHR will slow you down to build you up (aerbically). Slowing down will help you to better focus on form. Adding flats or minimal shoes will help you maintain what you learn on the form while building up your lower leg strength. The key though is slowing down or staying under MAF. The rest will fall into place.

Good luck and if you do find some HStreets drop us a line as they are harder to find than hen's teeth here (PUMA stopped making them about 4 years past).

100F. Wow. I'm looking to run in freezing rain today at lunch.

I decided to get the Nike Free 5.0 (v4)

There not as narrow as I thought - with the laces not too tight there fine.

They do feel a little different walking round (I havent run in them yet - want to get the feel first)

Looking forward to giving them a  runSmile
