Marathon & Beyond? (Read 232 times)

    All, If there is a good book pointing me in the right direction (like a "Training for Endurance, please recommend), then that would be sufficient, but I will run my first marathon on October 12th. Right now, I am following Higdon's "Intermediate 1", but, honestly, at a complete loss what to do once this marathon is through. Here is what I am looking to do: 1. Recover (How long? How many miles?) 2. Work in some anaerobic runs (reading Maffetone, so just one month's worth/how long after the marathon recovery is working this in a good idea?) 3. Mileage - any basic recommendations? thanks
      What's your long-term goal? More marathons? No more marathons? Ultramarathons? shorter distance? Quit running? Join the army?
        Main goal: more marathons (I guess I should get one under my belt, but...) Right now, I am thinking 1/year, maybe 2 (one in spring and one in fall). I have loved running with MAF, seeing progress over 4 months, but I have just followed Higdon w/ respect to mileage.
