There is now another marathon a couple days before Boston where registration is based on qualifying times - some look a bit faster than Boston  http://www.exetermarathon.com

Will be interesting to see if they get anyone to run it.  I suppose potentially people from the area that couldn't get into Boston if they can meet the more stringent requirements.
