When the world says, "Give up," Hope whispers, "Try it one more time." (Author Unknown)

FrancesRe - 8.15 miles walking/jogging, 7 miles biking.  Keeping it nice and easy.

Evryday - 31 running miles with some slacking and partying thrown in for good measure.

Eliz - 10.5 running miles,  3 walking miles, 10 biking miles, and can finally start enjoying the summer!

Nono - 19 running miles, 35 slideboarding minutes, 30 stretching/strengthing minutes, and, most importantly, 7600 steps of bucket carrying to/from ocean

fussyrunner - Had a plan, but not sure if she executed it.

Erika - 37.2 miles running, lots of walking, some weights, pool running and ellipticalling - all in prep for her marathon, which was fantastic!

dg - 20.1 miles running, 2 hrs. 15 min. assorted strength training.  elliptical hurts her knee, bike hurts her butt, pool running hurts her hammies . . . . the Editor is stumped.

Dutchie - 56.5k/35.1 running miles.  Nice week!

pfriese - 38.4 running miles, 2100 swimming meters, 35.2 bicyling miles.  Very nicely done, indeed.

fatozzig - 22.83 trail running miles, 10 beach running miles, 11 road running miles, 1.75 hrs core/strength.  Tapering for next 2 weeks.

Hi Leslie, thanks for starting us up. Where'd you get the quote?

Mon... UB/LB + abs ---> done this morning instead of a 3K recovery run. Mondays will be my designated day for UB. Don't do enough of it.

Tue.... 60min progressive run ---> 10.1K not so easy run. Legs felt tired and I needed two painkillers cause I woke up with a bad headache and didn't want to miss out on my run.

Wed... 60min easy run + abs --->3rd day in a row I woke up with a headache. I gave it a miss.

Thu.... 75min easy run ---> 12.4K easy run. We went early, but it was really warm all the same.

Fri..... 30 min tempo run + 30 min LB + abs (Fridays will be my designated LB days) ---> 5K easy run + 30min LB and a 13K bike commute

Sat.... 40min easy run ---> 7K easy run, 2 hours of errands, 4 hours of gardening, pruning mostly, in my totally neglected garden. It looks better now, but it'll take a lot more work before it looks good again. But if I keep chipping away at it, I might be able to put bulbs in the ground by fall and I'll have the prettiest garden ever in Spring

Sun.... 2h45 long run --->almost 22.3K in 2:44:36 I was slow as molasses today. Plus I took a walk break and a sip of water/ sports drink at every 3rd beep of my Polar HRM (think that's 2.5 kilometers).

Total mileage:56.8 kilometers

UB: 1x

LB:2x

Abs:2x

Hi, everyone!

Monday . . . . . plan:  rest . . . . . actual:  kayaked a little over an hour and helped a friend rig and sail a boat for about an hour - beautiful day here at the Jersey shore

Tuesday . . . . plan:  run 3 . . . ran 3.1 to make it an even # for the month; walked 1.0; it was ugly because I slept in and it was HOT, but I got it done

Wednesday . . . plan:  run 5 . . . . ran 5, walked 1, whaddya know, I'm right on schedule

Thursday . . . . . .plan:  run 3 . . . . . . slept in today, so will do the 3 (or maybe the LR) tomorrow; kayaked 2 hours, about 3/4 actually paddling and 1/4 floating and communing with the shorebirds; lot o' stretching this evening

Friday . . . . . plan:  rest . . . . out and about all day picking up my new (used) sailboat and bringing it from its former home

Saturday . . . . plan:  run 8 (to celebrate the 4th twice?!?!?) . . . yeah, right; struggled mightily through 4.5; walked 1.0; think I may have a sinus infection and/or UTI - yuck

Sunday . . . . . plan:  bike . . . . ran 3.2, walked 1.0; kayaked about 1-1/4 hours later

Summary:  ran 15.2 (I think I did the math right!); walked 4.0; kayaked 3 times; sailed once (an unexpected treat); and became a boat owner - a pretty darn good week.

Have a greta week!

Eliz

Hi ya folks!  Another week already?

OK, I really liked the table function when I used it last week, so here we go again!

  Planned     Actual
 M     25 min yoga, 20 min strength/stretch
 T    ran 4.5 mi
 W    ran 3 mi
 T    20 min slide boarding
 F    ran 4.5 mi
 S    ran 3 mi
 S    ran 7 mi

Total:  25 min yoga, 20 min strength/stretching, 20 min slide boarding, ran 22 mi.  I had other stretch/strengthening drills scheduled on W & F, and was completely disinterested in doing them.  Not lack of time, just not interested.  So they got skipped.

GOALS 2010:
