True, 2cat, I owe you, don't I?  Mariposai, I'll talk to the Feds and try to get this delayed 2 months.  Smile

Soooo, could we have dinner on Sat night?  My obligations end at 4:30pm and I'm free as a bird after that.

Hi DG, Hi Erika

Well, Saturday dinner  is a go...

Rosie and Econo I don't know where you will be in DC, but I do know where the Beers are so I suggest we plan on someplace at Bethesda row.  www.bethesdarow.com

Lots of nice resturants....and it is on the red line for us metro rats.

Open to other ideas too......post them here, or email me at lizisindc at yahoo dot com.

That sounds good Liz.

I need help finding a hotel. I've been looking on-line all morning but didn't know where we'd be going so now that I do, that should help.

Here's our plan.

Drive up and do a college exploratory with Blaine.  We want to check out George Mason.  We could stay in Arlington, I found some places there, and we'd be about a half hour from George Mason and close to a metro stop.

Or, should we stay closer to Bethesda Row?

What does the in-crowd know?

Liz,

I sent you a message here.

Bethesda row sounds good to us.  Is econo ok with that?

Maybe we should finalize via email -- I think everyone knows our email addresses.

My hotel is in the "Penn Quarter."  I'd be happy to take public transport or a taxi to get to wherever dinner is....just tell me how...can't wait!

My orientation schedule still isn't posted, so other than Sat night, I am in a complete fog regarding my obligations in DC!

No worries Econo, whereever you are staying I will get you to bethesda...you can count on me

I am all for keeping it in bethesda (such a nice little place Bethesda is) but am very very flexible and we can also come up with a place that is in DC (already have one in mind, just say the word and I will make the reservations)

Just let me know what everyone wants to do...

Looking forward to this...Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy ....a RA meetup..what fun!

Lou, I responded to your email....thanks for reaching out...

While others were toiling away in the Seattle Rn'R marathon, work obligations brought me to DC, where I was able to meet up with RunninginDC and the Beers!

First, on Thursday morning, RinDC took me out for a tourist run, to the Lincoln Memorial (my favorite president; my favorite memorial!) and back.  We walked a lot and I heard about her interesting work there in DC (top secret stuff!).  Then on Saturday evening, RinDC escorted me via the Metro to Bethesda, where we met WRFB and PDR for a delicious dinner.  Get this (spoken like a true Oregonian)...we ate dinner...OUTSIDE!  Great food, great times.

The beauty of these forums (fora) is not just the opportunity to receive support for one's running and overall fitness goals, but also it gets us out meeting others across the country and world.  Who said social capital was declining (uh, that was Robert Putnam)?  I heartily disagree!

Speaking of social capital, you would greatly increase yours if you were to post some pictures.

Sounds like fun, and I love the social side of this forum.  Glad you all had a good time. Eating out of doors, yet! Woods Lady

Running with Econo was such a honor for me, a very slow, slow runner.  At one point she thanked me for keeping it slow.  Man, I was huffing and puffing, and thinking slow?? this is slow??   Yikes, I am in trouble!

But I can attest that Econo is more lovely and wonderful than ever thought and we all had so much fun. Dinner with her and the beers was great.  Rosie, sure wish you could of joined us!

And I know that the tips she shared  with me on efficient use of elbows on the metro escalators will be so very useful.

MaEcono you have a fabulous daughter!!!!
